Nope...  /this/ says it all:

Remember that Ubuntu is trying hard to make migrating Windows users feel
at home.  Hence some quirky behaviour around the issue of case in
filenames etc.

I don't think any other Linux distro ships with case-sensitivity turned
off by default...  maybe Lindows or whatever that's called now.
