Hi,
This is in the response of Ovid <publiustemp-londonpm at yahoo.com>.
Actually Perl exeucte die command.
I have following command. It shows "Can't connect to TM V6 (dsn=$my_dsn)"
message in the browser. It means it is not able to connect with this
database.
If I execute this script in komodo itself then it is able to connect with
the database successfully.
That's what I want if there is any extra restriction on using cgi or perl
script from browser.

$tmdb   =   new Win32::ODBC("DSN=$my_dsn; UID=USER; PWD=pwd") or die "Can't
connect to TM V6 (dsn=$my_dsn)\n";

Thanks & Regards,

Hi,

I have a cgi script which tries to connect to oracle 92 database using
ODBC.
On running this cgi script through internet browser it gives an error and
unable to make connection using odbc.

If I run this script in Komodo using Ctrl + R command then it runs
successfully.

My setting are fine as I am able to run simple perl scripts which do not
require any database connection.

I am using c:\perl\bin\perl.exe "%s" %s for .cgi and .pl file type under
properties configuration in IIS server.

Please let me know if I need to make any specific setting.

Thanks & Regards,

Hemant Verma

I was wondering if anyone knows of any modules which extend/wrap
Test::More, et.al. to render pretty reports in HTML?

Thanks,

This year, May is the only chance that the evil heretics get to tempt
you into sin and depravity by messing with the calendar. The correct
date and place etc for the social, no matter what Kake The Sinful Pub-
mistress and Greg The Sadly Fallen Into Error will tell you, is:

the date: May the 1st
the time: after work
the pub: Bread and Roses
the place: Clapham
the URL:
http://london.randomness.org.uk/wiki.cgi?Bread_And_Roses,_SW4_6DZ

Be there, or lose your immortal souls.

Hello! As you will have noticed, I'm not Greg. This is not because I've
staged a coup, but because Greg has put me in charge of announcing the
pubmeets as well as booking them. So without further ado...

The May social will be at the Shooting Star, near Liverpool Street Station,
on Thursday 8 May. We have the function room in the basement all to
ourselves.

Maps, more info, etc:
  http://london.randomness.org.uk/wiki.cgi?Shooting_Star,_E1_7JF

Standard blurb:

Social meets are a chance for the various members of the group to meet
up face to face and chat with each other about things - both Perl and
non Perl - and newcomers are more than welcome. The monthly meets tend to
be bigger than the other ad hoc meetings that take place at other times
and we make sure that they're in easy to get to locations and the pub
serves food (meaning that people can eat in the bar if they want to.)
They normally start around 6.30pm (or whenever people get there after
work) and a group tends to be left come closing time.

If you're a new comer or other first timer (even if you've been lurking
on the mailing list or on IRC) then please seek Greg out - we have a
tradition that the leader of this motley crew buys the new people a
drink (alcoholic or not, either's fine) and introduces them to people.

Please don't cross post questions like this.

If you have a technical question and want to reach the widest possible

What's the error? Tough to comment without that :)

If you are unsure of the error, it would help if you could show us the
relevant entry from your error logs. Failing that, try *temporarily*
adding the following to your CGI program:

 use CGI::Carp qw/fatalsToBrowser/;

That will usually (not always) display the actual error message in the
browser. However, you will want to remove that for production. If
people see the error messages they, they may get enough information to
use that to try to hack into your box.

Cheers,
Ovid

Next year is far more sinful, getting off to a great start with Thursday
8th
January!

Daves, Ladies or Gentlemen of leisure should not claim that "after work" is
an undefined time for them and thus an excuse not to attend. Work, being
the
curse of the drinking classes, is merely an excuse for everyone else not to
be there at 11am.

But on the other hand, be careful lest you lose your mortal body on the
"interesting" tube stations:

http://flickr.com/photos/ollycourtney/232075853/
http://flickr.com/photos/paulsmith/60836329/

(only zone 2. The Royal Oak was also zone 2 on the Northern Line, and lots
of
people came to that*)

Nicholas Clark

* Creative misinformation - it was also only 10 minutes walk from a zone 1
  station.

I've been mostly unsuccessful in proposing the Sloaney Pony on Parsons
Green. It's seven minutes from Zone 1. They have an upstairs room which we
can have if we drink at least GBP250 of booze, thus avoiding the sloanes.
They have Golden Pride. What is there not to like?
