It might be worth noting that London Hackspace do occasional Arduino courses
with a day or so dedicated to doing a project of your own with a few experts
on hand.

It's a hundred quid for the two days, and they throw in an Arduino and box
of useful components. The kit alone is about fifty quid's worth of bits.
