You're almost certainly going to find more work in London than any other
UK town.  There are a lot of recruitment companies trying to hire Perl
coders here at present, although some of the roles have been around a
while so presumably are either looking for someone very special or are
jobs that nobody wants.

Searching for 'London' on http://jobs.perl.org will give you some idea
of what might be available.
