FWIW, it wasn't just Andrew's plea that made me kick him off.  Other
people had talked about it too, and there had even been talk of creating
a parallel "invitation only" list which IMO would have killed the group.
I'd been close to kicking him off for quite some time and can only
apologise that I gave Lyle so many chances and let him piss so many
people off so much.  I'm just too nice :-)

Lyle is welcome to re-join at any time, to lurk so that he can learn,
and to make useful contributions.
