Thanks to everyone who came to the last social, we had a great turnout
(how much was down to the location, the call for newbies to come out
of the woodwork or the free beer, who can say?).

Lets try somewhere new, somewhere I've enjoyed a good few pints of
delicious beer. In sunny clerkenwell.[1]

We have the back room from 6pm.

This is a traditional real ale pub with excellent beer. Word is that
the landlord recently removed the lager taps, so lager is now of the
bottled variety only.[2]

Every time I've been I've enjoyed my beer and there's been a real
cider on. There are bottles of gaymers or something else if you prefer
the taste of chemicals.[3]

There's an extensive menu of pub food cooked by a french chef. I've
eaten here, it's quite nice.

I seem to recall the scotch selection was somewhat lacking but then
I'm a scotch snob and perhaps others find it adequate.

Tube links:
Farringdon is nearest, on the everything-else line[4], one stop out of
kings cross
Chancery lane is only a few minutes away too, on the central line.
Russell square on the piccadilly is probably stretching it, change at
holborn and go to chancery lane.

Experimentally, I'm not bothering to look up buses because it's loads
of effort. If you resent this, let me know so I fix it next time.[5]

Hope to see you there.

[1] Sunlight not guaranteed. Refund not offered.
[2] The landlord himself is a lager drinker, so they are still catered
for.
[3] Mmmm mmm mmm... tasty e-numbers.
[4] In this case of everything-else, metropolitan, hammersmith and
circle.
[5] Patches welcome. Tell me how to find buses without engaging lots
of effort.
